- Line the lower rims of your eyelids in white to look more awake.
- Hold a small post-it between your lashes & eyelid when applying mascara. The sticky strip sticks to your finger and lets you really work the mascara in.
- A splash of olive oil on a cotton ball removes eye makeup.
- For a more dramatic curl, use your hairdryer to heat up your eyelash curler for a few seconds.
- A bit of shimmery white eyeshadow dusted in the inner corners of your eye sockets will brighten up your whole face.
Tissue Box = Plastic Bag Holder
Do you keep your plastic bags? I used to just hoard them all in one large bag and keep it in my closet. UNTIL NOW THAT IS.
This is a genius way to store them - just use an old tissue box that's finished tissuing. So much prettier. (Okay, "genius" is over-selling it, but it's a damn fine idea.)
Paper Towel Scarf Holder
While I never actually wear scarves in public, I do like to buy them, wear them in the privacy of my bedroom and imagine I'm some extremely well put together woman of the world. One day I'll confidently leave my house wearing one, but until then - I just need a beautiful way to store them in my closet. And this seemed like a great way since it's so clean and organized. Of course this idea came from Real Simple.

This idea has to happen. This week. I just saw this pinned on my sister-in-law Amanda's Pinterest page and I can't stop thinking about it. You can find all kinds of decanters at department stores, so the moment that I have more than $10 in my wallet, this baby IS BEING GOT. Ugh, so classy. So elegant! Imagine what a beautiful mess is would make if it shattered into a million pieces?! The radiant colour!! I'm... convulsing... Too beautiful for words.
Lip Tips of the Day
- Gently scrub your lips with a damp toothbrush to exfoliate before applying lipstick.
- Want your lips to look plumper? Dab clear gloss in the middle of your bottom lip.
- Moisturize your lips with face lotion. Unlike chapstick, it really soaks in and wards off dryness.
- Searching for the perfect pink? Squeeze your fingertip and look for a lipstick that matches the pink hue of your skin.
- Think of your lips as a barometer of your overall hydration. If your lips are chapped, you need to drink some water immediately!
Tip of the Day - Use Lemon!
I love the smell of Pine-Sol. It's probably my favorite smell of all time. When I was a kid, my mom would specifically clean the whole house with Pine-Sol on my birthday, so that when I came home from school it would make my day even brighter. While I prefer the original, sometimes she'd try out their "lemon fresh" and it would affect me in the same, magnificent way.
Anyway, I never really put any thought into why it put me in such a good mood until recently. Apparently, if you use lemon in more things in your daily routine, it has the ability to boost your state of mind and general happiness. Now I don't want you to scream at me demanding to know where I found this scientific information, so I'll just shut you up right now and say that I read about it in a bunch of aromatherapy research sites. All right?
These sites basically just suggest that the scent of lemon oil can lift spirits. So if you were to add lemon zest to iced tea or water on a regular basis, that's supposed to do wonders.
Cereal Container Trash Can - In a Car
Dumb idea? No way, man. I don't know about you and your filthy life, but I'm a clean person. I like things a certain way. A clean way. I'm not a freak about it, but this kind of thing probably gets worse with age and one day I will be a freak about it. Which is fine. I'll come to terms with that then.
I don't own a car, but when I use one (my parent's) there is usually all kinds of crap laying around just being gross and hanging out. Why? Well, cars don't come with trash cans. Why don't they? I don't know, car-makers are idiots? No, I guess that's too rough. They're not idiots. But they clearly weren't smart enough to include some sort of repository.
This is a great idea - to use a cereal container in place of a bulky trash can. So slim! Almost invisible! And keeps things tidy.
Do you really want to have a gross smelling/looking car interior? People are judging you on that, bud. Hate to tell you. Get it under control.

I just read this tip from Real Simple’s site. And here’s something, they’re a magazine as well! Okay, none of you are gonna agree with the placement of that last exclamation point, but it’s warranted. WARRANTED. ‘Cause that’s amazing! That site’s the best, so I’m definitely adding that subscription to my Wishpot. Such good ideas in that guy.
