I could watch this on a loop for the rest of time.
Wow
Are you fucking kidding me with this? Other than the fact that this movie looks like the biggest piece of shit of all time, THEY'RE TRYING TO COP WHAT DREAMS MAY COME. I mean, c'mon.
Granted, the central stories are different, but jesus christ this made me mad. Especially 'cause What Dreams May Come is actually a really, really good movie (I know it doesn't look that way from the trailer, but you got to trust me on that).
Movies keep getting shittier and shittier, and no one seems to care. And in a way, that makes complete sense since there are bigger things to care about at this point in time. But fuck. That doesn't give The fucking Shack the right to be made. Makes me so mad.
This scene will forever put me in a good mood.
Krampus Opening Scene
You're well aware of how much I love the movie Krampus. And whether or not it seems like the type of Christmas movie you'd actually want to watch, there's no denying how great this opening scene is. Love it so much.
New Michel Gondry
Can't believe I haven't heard of this movie before, it's already in theatres!
Yes.
Scary Stories
If that cover doesn't bring back memories for you, you didn't have as good a childhood as I did. I f-ing loved the stories inside this book. The one where the truck driver keeps flashing his high beams to a woman driving infront of him on the highway? Are you kidding me? I think about that story every time I'm alone in a car driving at night. EVERY TIME.
Anyway, so this book is being made into a movie. And normally that would make me mad since that seems like a terrible idea - but the reason I'm fine with it? Guillermo del Toro is attached to the project. You know, the guy who did Pan's Labyrinth? I really think buddy can do it justice.
Can't wait for this.
The Hours
So many things are great about this movie and if you haven't seen it, pleasepleaseplease remedy that. Ed Harris has arguably the best scene in any movie ever (the one by the window near the end of the film) and I'm not overselling that. Philip Glass kills it with the soundtrack in ways that I didn't know were possible. And once you get over Nicole Kidman's stupid nose, it's actually an amazing movie.
Julie & Julia
This is the best Nora Ephron movie that was ever made and I will fight you if you disagree.
I will admit that Amy Adams is so far past unbearable (as an actress and as a character) in this movie, but if you can get past that, you’ll have a great time. The Meryl Streep/Stanley Tucci storyline is the main reason I love it so much. Well, that and all of the cooking scenes. I watch it at least once every three months, don’t tell anyone.
Moving Art on Netflix
This series on Netflix is basically my favourite thing to have on in the background when I'm working or lounging or generally just being. The episodes are centered around deserts, flowers, oceans, waterfalls and forests, accompanied by a soundtrack by Ludovico Einaudi, Johann Johannsson and Gary Malkin.
The main reason I can't stop watching? They're soothing as hell. If you're thinking this is anything like that damn fireplace channel, it isn't. I watched the waterfall one first and that's the one that got me hooked into wanting to watch the other ones (and if you aren't into the sight of seeing waterfalls while it's snowing, then we can't be friends). It's also kind of nice to watch right before you go to sleep at night - there's something comforting about seeing these images before you go to bed.
If the above video link isn't working, you can see a trailer for the short series over here.
