Patsy's

If you're looking for the best sit-down pizza place in this great city, I hope you're going to Patsy's (or Angelo's - the owners are the same, menu is the same). I've had this opinion for about seven years now, so I know what I'm talking about. Look at this monster.

Whatever you do, make sure there's pepperoni on the pie. It's that thick-cut kind that makes you happy to be alive. I try to take everyone who visits me here.

Robbie & 'za

If that doesn't look incredible to you, I really don't know what you're looking for in this life we share. If you care for other NYC pizza advice, go on over here or here or here

When A Man Loves A Woman - Percy Sledge

by Liz Heather in ,

This is not only the best version of this song you'll ever hear, but it's one I hold quite dear to my heart. The first time I'd ever heard it was when it played in the fairground at night at the CNE on one of the last dates me and Nathan had when we lived in Toronto (and Mississauga). It was playing over the loud speakers with the noise of the rides in the background and he kissed my forehead as we started to walk back to the car. He'll definitely have forgotten about it since it was such a nothing moment, but I'll  always remember how great this song is.

If I'm being too sentimental, screw you! My blog, baby. My thoughts.

The Best Cosby Show Episode

by Liz Heather in

If you have time to spare, go to hulu.com and watch this full episode. It's the one where Rudy wants to wear a summer dress to a party in the autumn and her mother tells her she can't. There's a whole sequence when she's in her room by herself that I am absolutely in love with. I remember seeing this episode for the first time when I was sixteen or so and immediately remembering how such small things in my life would make me so upset at that age. God, it's a really good episode. (And that really means something considering I always loathed Clair Huxtable - you probably hate me saying that, but she was a terrible television mother. I agree with her in this episode, but for the most part she was way too strict on her kids. Awful, awful woman.)
