Man, I know this is really old, but I'll love this video for the rest of my life. So many different parts of this = amazing. Man. Love it. And if you haven't seen it before, I beg you to watch.
NYC Subways "Recycled" To THE OCEAN
Doesn't this seem nuts? I don't mean bad nuts, just nuts nuts. Apparently the disposing of old subway cars in the ocean "creates habitats for marine life and supports recreational fishing". New York City Transit has "provided" more than 2,500 retired subway cars to several states along the east coast of the U.S.A. Before the cars are buried at sea, they are stripped of potential environmental contaminants and then steam-cleaned.
Isn't that wild?! I would love to meet the person who came up with this idea. They've already been doing this for at least six years! How am I just hearing about this now!?
Super Juice Me
To be fair, I haven't watched this yet (I'm literally about to press play), but c'mon - you know this is my kinda movie. And I'm posting it preemptively mainly because you can watch it for until the next week. Go watch!
If you go on their website, just type in your email and you'll be able to watch it for free until Monday May 5th. Also, if it actually sucks then I'll come back and delete this post. OR let you know just how good it is. JUICE!
(Thanks to Jenn for the heads up!)
Tiny Hamster Eating Tiny Burrito
BECAUSE, okay?
Bic Pens For Her
Other than the times that she scares people on her show, I don't really have an opinion on Ellen. (Those scare pranks? Oh, man are they great. Just in general. So funny to see someone's scared reaction.) But anyway, yeah - no real opinion on Ellen. Seems okay, I guess. But this is just great. (Thanks Adele for posting it originally and showing me!)
Children's Drawings Become Real Stuffed Animals
Wendy Tsao runs Child's Own Studio and has been turning children's drawings into stuffed animals since 2007.
I'm conflicted about whether I want to congratulate this woman on coming up with such a unique business idea or whether I want to QUIT EVERYTHING AND SOMEHOW ALIGN MYSELF WITH HER TO CREATE THESE DRAWINGS AS A CAREER. Can you imagine how fun this must be?
Prices run between $90 and $140 (Canadian), plus shipping costs - and there's obviously a wait list. But honestly, if you know how to use a sewing machine (and you should), I don't see what could be stopping you from trying to do this on your own. I would've never even thought of such an idea, but wouldn't it be an incredible gift? I don't know if a child would love it as much as I think they would (and should), but this is definitely going to be something I'll attempt if I ever have children. SUCH a genius idea. You can see more of her work here.
Chihuahua Dancing Flamenco
Look, sometimes things like this must be posted. I watch this... maybe five times a month? Sometimes you just need an afternoon smile. Look at this guy! LOOK!
How to Talk to Little Girls
Everything about this article is great. And if you have any nieces or young daughters in your life, I think you'll especially understand why this is so important. (Thanks to Christina Brinco for sharing it!)
Dog Splits
I firmly believe that this image has the potential to bring complete peace to this world as we know it. Makes me beam every time I see it.
Canadian Stamps Rising
If you're into correspondence and/or you buy stamps every so often, then you'll want to grab some stamps before Monday (March 31) when their prices increase by an UNGODLY AMOUNT.
If you buy singular stamps, they're rising from 63 cents to ONE DOLLAR. I'm not really sure why rioting hasn't begun because of this. More people need to be upset. I completely understand it, but... we're all just taking this in silence? Outrageous. Go stock up NOW.
(I know that they'll only cost 85 cents each when you buy them in a booklet, but still. These increases are beyond insanity. Shame on you, Canada Post. Shame, shame.)
