This place is probably the best thing about Brooklyn. It could be described as just a bar, but I think the more accurate label would be that it's a bar/screening room. You'll get a feel for the place just by looking at their calendar of events.
Once in awhile, they have a "TV Hangover" night where they show hours of a specific television show, with games and specials based on whatever show they're doing that night. I really wanted to go to this Lost one, but unfortunately my brother lives in another country and couldn't go with me.
Anyway, it's definitely better than just going to a plain old bar, so I'm telling you to check it out if you're ever looking for something a little bit more fun than a boring night out drinking.
Everything about this is fantastic.
Mindy is finally back tomorrow (September 16th).
If you have time to spare, go to hulu.com and watch this full episode. It's the one where Rudy wants to wear a summer dress to a party in the autumn and her mother tells her she can't. There's a whole sequence when she's in her room by herself that I am absolutely in love with. I remember seeing this episode for the first time when I was sixteen or so and immediately remembering how such small things in my life would make me so upset at that age. God, it's a really good episode. (And that really means something considering I always loathed Clair Huxtable - you probably hate me saying that, but she was a terrible television mother. I agree with her in this episode, but for the most part she was way too strict on her kids. Awful, awful woman.)
I'm not a fan of Jay Leno at all (when I was younger I LOVED his headlines bit, shoot me) and this video is probably too long for you to want to watch (8 minutes), but this lady seems fun as hell. Honestly I'm a fan of anyone over the age 65 and still smiling. Why do I see so many angry seniors?! Makes me so mad. A smile ain't gonna kill you.
ON STAGE
Principal Skinner: Welcome to the world premiere of The Nice Man Giveth!
IN AUDIENCE
Mr. Burns: Ugh. FOCUS!
Smithers: It's a play, sir.
So... we're all in agreeance that this was the best show to come out of Canada, yeah? One time I saw Busy in a washroom in Mississauga and talked about it consistently for about three years. One day the full series will come out on DVD, but until then they're all over YouTube, baby.
Why? No idea. Oh wait, I do know. It's 'cause of the 25th anniversary of the show.
Am I intrigued, MAC? Of course!
The 10-piece line includes lip glosses, false eyelashes, nail stickers, brightly coloured eyeshadows and blushes. The limited edition line goes on sale online on August 28th and will be available in MAC stores everywhere September 4th. You can take a look at the products below.
My thoughts? Way too expensive. And I'm a huge fan of MAC and The Simpsons. But $20 for a "Nacho Cheese" coloured lip gloss? Get real. I am considering buying one of the blushes since I'm not happy with the Nars one I'm trying to get through right now. (Why do all blushes have to have that tiny hint of sparkle in them? I don't want to sparkle! I want a subtle glow, damnit.) Anyway, all of these products are way too much money and they will all definitely sell out so I guess I'll just shut my mouth.
It's weird how Bobby Hill wasn't as beloved as say a Milhouse or a Fry. Kid's the best.
