“You don’t need a family to write holiday cards. And if you do write them? Try to write something more than “Have a good holiday.” This is not hard.”

Actually Interesting Home Alone Fact
I know it's lame to suggest Buzzfeed links, but you have to learn this fact about Home Alone. Link below.
Mom Says
Apple Holiday Ad
I usually get really mad at myself when a commercial has the ability to make me go, "Man. That was really nice." 'cause, well, I like to pretend I'm smarter than everyone, as we all do.
That being said - ugh, just watch this. It's nice. And obviously makes me want an iPhone. Kill me. I'm not smart.
“I realize there’s something incredibly honest about trees in winter, how they’re experts at letting things go.”
All Alone On Christmas - Darlene Love
It's hard to tell whether I love this song because of Home Alone 2: Lost in New York or because it's just such a good New York Christmas song. Nevertheless, both are valid reasons.
Lessons of the Week
- Scallops are the hardest thing in the world to make. Only because it's impossible to know when they're done. And if you are three seconds late in knowing that? They're totally rubbery and ruined, apparently. Way too hard. Gotta stay away from pinning any scallop-incorporated recipes on Pinterest from now on.
- On a MAC, press Command + Delete to delete a file instead of dragging it into the trash can.
- I've been using a lime as deodorant for the past few days. And dude? It's been pretty sweet. If you know me, you know I'm very... finicky when it comes to deodorants - I just don't trust them. They're so chemically. I heard about this alternative in some health magazine. Give it a try.
Williams-Sonoma Hate Guide
I like Williams-Sonoma, and I love this piece about it. It's written by Drew Magary, but reminds me of something that my brother Gary could've wrote, it's so angry/great.
Christmas Movie To Watch - Batman Returns
Okay, calm down. I know there are a billion other, way-more-Christmasy movies I could suggest here - but you already know about those! And hopefully you're aware of this one as well. But if not? Watch it!
It can get sickening to watch the gooey, heartfelt Christmas movies over and over each year (with the exception of Scrooged, I could watch that every year until I die and be quite content), so maybe mix it up and give this a watch.
And I'm not into comic books* or superheroes at all, but the sight of Gotham City? Fuck, it's so gorgeous. What a beautiful place to live. And with the snow? Get out of here, so lovely.
*Archie Comics are an exception obviously, those will always be delightful to me.
