My brother Gary has started (and maintained) Perfect Strangers: Reviewed - a site that details each and every Perfect Strangers episode, but in a modernly-interpreted manner. Basically, he's watching each of the episodes today (in 2015) and re-examining them in an entertaining and delightful way.
I'm obviously a huge fan of him, of the show and of this idea, so get your ass to that page and devour each word as wholeheartedly as I shall do.
I really think that if I were alive around the time that these guys were famous, I would've been a huge fan. As it stands, I'm a pretty big fan of mainly their singles, but it definitely could have been a deeper love had I experienced their heyday.
I think the first time I'd ever heard a snippet of one of their songs was when this scene happened:
I remember hearing that and thinking, "Whoa. What the hell song is that, I need to get it on my Walkman NOW."
A few years later, I came across Saturday Night Fever and (other than that being just a terrible movie) the amount of Bee Gees songs featured solidified me as a fan. I mean, c'mon - listen to this gem.
It mildly shocks me that women haven't demanded more variety when it comes to their hair ties. Doesn't it seem strange that we've never really yearned for more beautiful alternatives to the plain, old, fabric-laden rubber band? These are some of the reasons that I absolutely love this copper "hair tube" seen above. Not only is it gorgeous, but it's different from the boring-ass hair ties that dominate the doorknobs in my house (that's where I keep all my hairties, on doorknobs throughout the house - it's actually a great way to always find one when you need one).
I think it's fair to say that I talk about my niece Layla a lot. Why's that, you ask? Umm, I don't know, maybe 'cause SHE'S CLEARLY AMAZING?
I could get into some specific stories and post certain photos here as proof of her uniqueness, but she's previously said that she "refuses to give consent" on everything that gets posted of her online - so you'll just have to take my word for it.
Happy 10th Birthday, my love! You continue to wow everyone around you and I hope your day's treating you right.
We all fall into two categories of people - those who seasonally decorate and those who do not. Guess which one I fall into.
My parent's windowsill
I love walking into a home and being able to feel what time of year it is. There's something that makes me so happy about someone putting that much effort into their daily surroundings. Here are a few that I made and put up when I was visiting my parent's house recently.
I know these are little subtle, but that doesn't make them any less lovely, in my opinion. And if you think I'm a snob about the kinds of decorations that people put up, you'd be dead wrong. I find the most gaudy of decorations just as pleasurable to see as the more demure ones. I'm really just a fan of people celebrating any kind of holiday or season. And when you're ready to move on to the next season, you can always store them in your handy holiday decorations box.
