If you actually watch the whole fifteen minutes - you're as lame as I am AND THAT'S OKAY!
Listen, I know Gilmore Girls wasn't a good show. Sorta. I sorta know that. That doesn't erase the fact that I watched it to completion and still view Rory & Jess as one of my top two tv couples of all time. Even watching some of these scenes now makes me gush like a schoolgirl. I'm sorry?
And since we're talking about that show, two things:
- Lorelai Gilmore was probably the most irritatingly, unlikable lead character on any show in television history. Why wasn't that talked about more? Like you know how it took us all a few years to be like, "Wow, Carrie Bradshaw fucking sucks as a person" - why did that never happen here? Is it 'cause we all moved on so quickly after this show ended?
- It blows my MIND that Melissa McCarthy wasn't given better lines in any of her storylines. She was a moviestar waiting to happen and it took so damn long because this show never showcased her properly! That aggravates me a bit.
Anyway, big fan.
(And if you really didn't guess that my number one tv couple was Pacey & Joey, then kindly go jump in a lake 'cause y'aint a real friend of mine.)
Kanye West on SNL
I used to hate Kanye West. Why? I don't know, like everyone else who hates him - I didn't really have any good reasons ("He seems like a dick" isn't really a good reason). I just never cared for him.
And then I saw this performance on Saturday Night Live in 2010 and I completely changed my tune. Typically speaking, I always fast forward through most SNL performances. But this one? Just nuts. Not only is it amazing that so much effort went into it, but I found it incredible that he could alter that same old SNL stage the way that he did. I loved how much thought went into that performance and that was it. I stopped hating him. Below you can find another performance from that same episode, but the one linked above is the one that did it for me.

I really enjoyed it (which you may have anticipated) and you should definitely check it out if you haven't already. Best parts ahead.

There's a story about the death of her younger brother that's insanely sad, but she tells it in such a delicate way that's so memorable.
She wrote a whole page describing how great Garry Shandling is and how he's such an influence to her. "Garry emphasized that it would be up to me to set limits, to know what I can and cannot do, and that "quality of life" does not mean "the most money to can possibly make."
"After Saturday-night sleepovers I'd go to church on Sundays with my Christian friends and their families far more than I ever went to temple. But both places of worship seemed to be these bizarre forums where authority figures told fucked-up ghost stories between spurts of loving encouragement."
