Etsy Opens First Shop
Etsy's first store opened recently in the basement of Macy's in Herald Square, and its theme will be refreshed every two months. Why would anyone have thought this was a good idea? Yeah, I don't know. Isn't Etsy known for being completely unassociated with anything currently in a retail space? Isn't that why people like it? Why would it ever need an actual storefront?
Is it just me or is this like having an actual eBay storefront? What's the point? It seems like such a weird, dumb idea. I know Macy's is struggling - and with ideas like this one, I can see why.

Hathaway Sport Winter Leggings
I have owned two pairs of these Costco leggings for the past three years and they are worn out as shit. Why? I have worn them, almost exclusively, throughout the months of December, January, February and March - almost every single day of those months (if that sounds like a gross statement to you, maybe I'm exaggerating... and if that isn't a gross statement to you, I'm definitely not exaggerating). So I think it's perfectly acceptable that they're a little tattered at this point. (But fret not, new ones are the way, thank you, Marla!)
I received them as a gift (from Harmeet) and at first thought to myself, "Why the hell would I wear these bland-ass-looking, thick leggings? I have a million leggings that are way nicer and more colourful. What is she thinking giving these to me?" And then I tried them on one cold night and they blew my face off they were so comfortable and flattering. I swear to you, if you give these a shot, you will not be disappointed.
Also: don't judge people who buy clothes at Costco, it's rude.

Flying Tiger Copenhagen
“Flying Tiger is a Danish design store offering a quirky, ever-changing selection of own-designed products at surprisingly affordable prices.”
I LOVE THIS STORE.
So this place is basically a classier dollar store and it's been missing from your life.
I especially love the layout of the store. When you walk in, you're forced to walk in a maze-like pattern around the entire store, and I love that. I wish clothing stores were set up that way.
Honestly, I can't even give you a summary of what they've got, there's too much - pilates equipment, desk accessories, gift wrap supplies, games, umbrellas, headphones, EVERYTHING.
I can't imagine someone entering this store and not coming out with something necessary for a well-lived life. I CAN'T.
There's one location (so far) in the U.S. and it's in the Flatiron District in New York, you should definitely check it out.

Cauliflower Pizza Crust
I've been wanting to try this out for such a long time - so it finally happened! And honestly? It tasted incredible. I adapted Chef John's recipe slightly, so if you'd like to give it a try yourself, please read on.
Ingredients
- 1 head cauliflower, cored and separated into florets
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 ounces fresh goat cheese
- 1/4 teaspoon minced garlic
- 1/2 ounce finely grated Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese
- 1 large egg
- 1/4 teaspoon of pepper
- 1 pinch cayenne pepper, or to taste
- Whatever toppings, tomato sauce & cheese you'd prefer
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Puree the cauliflower in a food processor until finely ground.
- Cook ground cauliflower, water, minced garlic, salt, and pepper together in a skillet over medium-high heat until most of the water evaporates, 5 to 6 minutes. Then make sure to cool completely.
- Transfer the cauliflower to the center of a clean dish towel. Wrap and squeeze tightly to remove all excess moisture. (If you want to do this in small batches, that might be smart since you'll get as much water out as you can that way.) You should have about 1 1/2 cups of cauliflower pulp.
- Stir the cauliflower, goat cheese, Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese, egg, and cayenne pepper together in a bowl to form a soft dough. Gather dough into a ball and place in the center of the prepared baking sheet. Press dough into circle about 1/4-inch thick.
- Bake in the preheated oven until golden brown and set, about 40 minutes. Cool and make sure to turn the crust over before topping the pizza and then placing in the oven once again for 15 minutes to bake the toppings into the pizza.
And one more amazing tip from Chef John about this recipe: if you're making this for other people, tell them that they're coming over to eat cauliflower. That way they're pleasantly surprised when it turns out to look (and totally taste) like pizza, with a cauliflower undertone.
